Tämä energiatehokas keskustakirjasto Helsingissä on näyttävä ja katseenkääntävä rakennus kotimaisesta kuusesta tehdyssä verhoilussaan. Tietyt elementit ovat Oodissa lähes mahdottomia toteuttaa muilla materiaaleilla kuin puun keinoin.
Käytetyn puun määrä on vaikuttava: julkisivurakenteissa (4 100 m2), yläpohjarakenteissa (4 045 m2), alakattopintoina ja sisäseinärakenteina (2 115 m2) sekä kansalaisparvekkeessa (1 055 m2). Myös sisustuksessa on käytetty runsaasti puuta.
Puurakentajat toteutti sisäkaton taivutukset ja asennukset tilaan, jossa kaupunkilaiset viihtyvät.

Oodi truly showcases the versatility and possibilities of wood in architectural design. This energy-efficient central library in Helsinki is a striking and an eye-catching building with its wooden façade of Finnish spruce. Some of the elements in this building are nearly impossible to implement with other materials than wood.
The amount of wood used is impressive: in the exterior walls (4 100 m2), top of construction (4 045 m2), bottom of construction and inner walls (2 115 m2) and the citizen balcony (1 055 m2). Also many of the interior details are made of wood.
Puurakentajat implemented the bending and assembly of the curved ceiling in the public space where the city dwellers enjoy spending their time.
